Formatting
a Works Cited Page
We recommend that you create your Work Cited Page at the very beginning of your online research. Key in information about each source as soon as you have decided that it is valuable. It will be a good record for you. You can also copy the citation to the top of each page of notes you make, ensuring that you know where your information and quotes came from.
To start, open
up a blank Word document and key-in “Works Cited” at
the top.
Create
a citation in MLA style for each resource you use (book, magazine, website,
etc.) in Landmarks Citation Machine.
Here
are strict rules for formatting your page:
1.
Do not alter the citation - Use the exact wording and punctuation
(comma, period, underlining) as created by Landmarks software.
2.
Organize citations in alphabetical order of first word (usually author’s last
name but may be the title)
4.
Indentation Rules for each work:
Line
1 – flush with left margin
Line
2 + – Indent 6 spaces
